Auto insurance is a necessity for drivers everywhere. Different states maintain different requirements for levels of coverage. We will assist you with your state requirements.
Typically, you will be required to carry:
- Bodily Injury Liability – which covers costs associated with injuries or death that you or another driver causes while driving your car.
- Property Damage Liability – which covers damage that you or another driver operating your car causes to another vehicle or other property.
In addition, you may be required to carry:
- Medical Payments or Personal Injury Protection (PIP) – which provides reimbursement for medical expenses for injuries to you or your passengers. It will also cover lost wages and other related expenses.
- Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Coverage – which reimburses you when an accident is caused by an uninsured or underinsured driver. This coverage also protects you in the case of a hit-and-run.
Required coverages cover the damage made by your vehicle. To ensure your vehicle is covered, consider these additional coverages:
- Collision – which covers damages to your car that occurs as a result of a collision with another vehicle or other object when you’re at fault.
- Comprehensive – which provides coverage against theft or damage caused by an incident other than a collision, such as fire, flood, vandalism, hail, falling rocks or trees and other hazards.
- Glass Coverage – which covers windshield and other auto glass damages. Some auto policies include no-deductible glass coverage.
Lastly, consider Gap Insurance if you still owe on a purchased vehicle or lease. Your car begins depreciating the moment it leaves lot. Gap Insurance covers the difference between the depreciated value and market value or amount owed.
